In 1970 Rafael Carrillo and his wife Mari opened a small inn in the Jewish quarter of Cordoba which they named ‘El Churrasco’ because of its specialty in grilled meats (churrasqueadas) on oak charcoal, and which were prepared in full view of the public.

They created and popularized the “churrasco cordobés” which consists of a grilled Iberian pork tenderloin accompanied by 2 characteristic Arabian sauces (Red and Green). Little by little, Rafael, who was in charge of attending to the customers and Mari in charge of the kitchen, turned the inn into a restaurant with the addition in 1974 of a typical Cordovan patio and a main dining room on the first floor of the restaurant.

"Restaurante reconocido en Córdoba por su tradición y su “churrasco”. El local es bonito y los comedores amplios. La comida correcta. El revuelto de la casa estaba rico y el churrasco estaba bueno pero algo reseco al estar demasiado hecho. Disponen también de opción de tapeo en barra donde puedes degustar unas buenas típicas tapas cordobesas. Relación calidad-precio aceptable. Opción recomendable si te encuentras por la zona antigua de Córdoba."

Lugar que encontramos por una recomendación personal. El restaurante era de una gran belleza aprovechando un típico patio cordobés. En cuanto al trato del personal fue excelente. Recomendaría los bocartes adobados fritos, las berenjenas acompañadas con el salmorejo y el churrasco, todos ellos platos típicos de esta región.

Lugar muy céntrico una carta variada y de calidad, el comedor es muy acogedor. Personal muy servicial y normalmente necesita reserva pues está muy concurrido. Recomiendo la presa ibérica. Sin dudarlo repetiré cuando vuelva a Córdoba.La próxima vez repetiremos para probar la parrilla.
